Lucky Baskhar is a forthcoming Telugu-language thriller drama from India, crafted by the creative mind of Venky Atluri, who both penned and directed the project. The film is brought to life by producers S. Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya, under the banners of Sithara Entertainments, Fortune Four Cinema, and Srikara Studios. Leading the cast is Dulquer Salmaan, portraying the central character, with supporting performances by Meenakshi Chaudhary, Ayesha Khan, Hyper Aadi, and P. Sai Kumar. Set against the backdrop of the 1980s, the story revolves around the enigmatic wealth of the titular banker.
The film’s announcement came in May 2023 under the provisional title Dulquer Salmaan 32, marking it as the actor’s 32nd venture in a leading role, with the official title revealed in July. Filming began in October 2023, primarily taking place in Hyderabad. The soundtrack is crafted by G. V. Prakash Kumar, while Nimish Ravi handles cinematography and Naveen Nooli takes charge of editing.
Originally slated for release on September 27, 2024, Lucky Baskhar was moved up to sidestep competition with other films hitting theaters around the same time. It was set for a global debut on September 7, 2024, but has since been postponed indefinitely. The new release date is now targeted for October 31, 2024, coinciding with the Diwali festivities.
