Venom: The Last Dance is a 2024 American superhero film, crafted by Kelly Marcel, who both wrote and directed the project, featuring the Marvel Comics character Venom. This film marks the concluding chapter of the Venom trilogy, following Venom (2018) and Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021), and represents the fifth entry in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU). The film stars Tom Hardy in the dual role of Eddie Brock and Venom, alongside a talented ensemble that includes Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Stephen Graham, Peggy Lu, Clark Backo, Alanna Ubach, and Andy Serkis.
In August 2018, Hardy disclosed that he was contracted to participate in a third and final installment of the Venom series. Following the release of the second film, Sony Pictures initiated development by December 2021. By June 2022, both Marcel and Hardy were actively working on the screenplay, with Marcel poised to make her directorial debut by that October. New cast members, including Ejiofor and Temple, were announced in mid-2023, and principal photography commenced at the end of June 2023 in Spain. Production faced a temporary suspension in July due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike but resumed in November after the strike concluded. The film reached completion by the end of February 2024, with its title disclosed a month later.
Venom: The Last Dance premiered at the Regal Times Square theater in New York City on October 21, 2024, before being released in the United States on October 25. As with its predecessors, this installment received mixed reviews from critics and achieved a global box office gross of $94.8 million.

In April 2021, Sony entered into agreements with Netflix and Disney for the rights to their film slate from 2022 to 2026, subsequent to the films’ theatrical and home media release periods. Netflix secured exclusive “pay 1 window” streaming rights, which generally encompass an 18-month period and include upcoming Venom films following Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Meanwhile, Disney acquired “pay 2 window” rights for these films, enabling them to be streamed on Disney+ and Hulu, as well as broadcast on Disney’s traditional television networks.
